About the opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to develop and implement a youth rehabilitation program in a newly built, twenty-bed residential facility based in Traralgon. The cutting-edge, purpose-built facility is on track for completion in July 2021. Reporting to an AOD & MH Senior Management Team who thrive on innovation, your focus will be on delivering the program in a culturally safe way, supported by evidence-informed frameworks, yet with the flexibility to adjust the delivery based on suitability for your cohort of clients.

You will be responsible for building a team of AOD Support Workers, providing them with support and leadership to deliver in line with the vision of the service.

With the rehabilitation facility being a new addition to Traralgon, you will work in partnership with and become involved in the local and wider community to ensure the goals of our service user are achieved.

About you

This position will be well-supported by the Group Manager, AOD Residential Programs, hence your previous experience may include:

  • Background in clinical leadership in a residential setting
  • Team Leader or Manager of a residential service
  • AOD or Mental Health experience within a residential setting

The key factors determining your ongoing success in this position are:

  • Working with an evidence-informed, strengths-based practice designed to enhance the opportunity for optional outcomes for young people
  • Keeping abreast of new approaches in evidence-based treatment, and seeking ways to innovate programs
  • Demonstrated experience working within the community, local or state-wide
  • Understanding of residential treatment and programs within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Highly collaborative approach with a strong view for continuous improvement
  • Natural ability to work with people, specifically young people, within a strengths-based framework
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant health and or welfare discipline such as Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or Allied Health Sciences;
  • Qualifications in management or willing to undertake within the first 18 months in the role.
  • Certificate IV in AOD or have completed the core competencies (or able to complete within the first 24 months of employment).
