About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager to join our Southern Senior Leadership team. The Manager is responsible for the operational and strategic leadership, management and development of high-quality Home Based Care services across our Southern Region. The program delivers case management support to vulnerable children, young people, and their families in a foster care arrangement, and oversees the recruitment, supervision and ongoing support of volunteer carers.

As Manager – Home Based Care, you will lead a committed workforce to deliver a range of quality services to vulnerable children, young people and families who present with complex needs. The Manager will ensure that services effectively respond to consumer and community needs, and ensure services are delivered in accordance with statutory requirements. The Manager will also be responsible for chairing decision-making panels for foster carer accreditation.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a tertiary degree in social work, psychology or a related discipline.

You will also have:

• Extensive leadership experience within the child, youth and family welfare sector
• Demonstrated experience developing and leading programs in a complex service delivery environment
• Sound knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulations relevant to the out of home care sector
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective working relationships and foster a positive team culture
• High level written and verbal communication skills
