About the opportunity

This position will be responsible for the supervision and support for the Kinship Case Managers.

Kinship Care Case Managers work in partnership with kinship carers, children and young people, birth parents, extended family and professionals.

This role will predominantly focus on providing Contracted and First Supports services to Kinship Care placements, with an emphasis on promoting placement preservation and supporting children, young people and their carers.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A university qualification, degree level or above in social welfare, psychology, Social Work or related discipline.
  • Experience and knowledge of the provision of intervention/support to children, youth and their families with multiple and complex needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues surrounding the out-of-home care system / family services and the available resources and services in Gippsland.
  • Strong skills in needs, risk and safety assessments of children, young people and their parents within the context of the Best Interest Framework.
  • Demonstrated experience to provide leadership to others.
