About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Children’s Group Worker to join our Homelessness and Crisis Services Program.

The Children’s Group Worker assists with the development, facilitation and evaluation of a variety of group work programs for children impacted by family violence. The position provides intake and risk assessment support to the family violence therapeutic interventions program ‘Pathways to Resilience’. Working collaboratively with this program, families and other key stakeholders, the Children’s Group Worker aims to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children and their families.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having:

  • A Diploma (or higher) qualification in a Social and Community Services related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating group work with children within the community services sector, preferably in a family violence context
  • A sound understanding of family violence and its impact on children and families
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively to achieve goals that facilitate safe and nurturing environments for children in a group context
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
