About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Case Manager to join our Homelessness Intake and Prevention Program. The role is based Uniting’s 121 youth refuge, which is a safe and supportive refuge for young people across Melbourne who are homeless, or are at risk of homelessness. The refuge provides short-term accommodation to vulnerable young people while they get their lives back on track.

Working as part of a committed team, the Case Manager provides assessment, support and engaging case management services to young people at the 121 youth refuge. The Case Manager will support young people to access relevant services, suitable housing and community options to help them to break the cycle of homelessness. The role will be required to work afterhours at times.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Diploma (or higher) qualification in Community Services or a related discipline.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated case management experience within the homelessness or community services sectors
  • A client focused approach, with the ability to prioritise the individual needs of each client
  • A genuine interest in and commitment to caring for young people in need
  • Capacity to work flexibly to meet the needs of young people
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem solving skills
