About the opportunity

We are seeking as skilled and enthusiastic assessor to join our Home Based Care Program on a casual basis. As a Carer Recruitment & Support Practitioner, you will conduct comprehensive interviews, screening processes and prepare assessment reports for potential foster carers under the ‘Step by Step’ accreditation framework. With consideration of the strengths and vulnerabilities of a potential carer, the Practitioner will put forward recommendations on the potential carer’s suitability for accreditation.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Diploma of Community Services or equivalent qualification. A tertiary degree in Social Work or a related discipline would be advantageous.

You will also have:

  • Sound understanding of Best Interests Case Practice Model and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing and appropriately responding to risk for children aged 0-18 years
  • Ability to develop comprehensive reports, service documents and maintain case notes in a timely manner
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
