Wesley Mission is a high profile, multi-faceted Christian organisation making a real difference in the community. We work with the most disadvantaged in our community by providing over 200 services ranging from aged care, homeless services, child and family care, counselling, employment, training and education, and health services.
Our Vision is “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”
The Getting it Together service is an early intervention program designed to assist young people aged between 12 and 25 years of age with alcohol and/or other drug problems. The goal of the program is to provide services and support to enable vulnerable young people to transition to or resume self-sufficient living, free of dependence on alcohol and/or other drugs.
Wesley Youth Outreach is a targeted early intervention program assisting vulnerable young people with difficulties connected to substance use.
An opportunity exists for an experienced, motivated and teachable person to join our small team providing short-term interventions and support to promote healthy self-reliance, family connection and community participation – free from dependence on alcohol and other drugs.
This is a demanding but rewarding role, requiring initiative, resilience, collaboration, creativity and genuine compassion. It involves working from offices in Gosford and neighbouring districts, in partner organisations and in homes of the young people we support. Work is predominantly one-on-one but may include groups and community education. It will require travel throughout the Central Coast and occasional earlier starts or later finishes.
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHADS) Award 2010.
Wesley Mission is a Christian organisation requiring all staff to affirm its values and Worker code of conduct. We are committed to providing an environment in which children can feel safe and valued.
The suitable applicant will be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks for appointment to positions within Wesley Mission (including provision of a valid Working with Children Check clearance number). Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
