About the role

The Brighter Futures program provides targeted support to vulnerable families with children aged 0-8 years to prevent them from escalating into the child-protection system.

We are looking for an outstanding Regional Intake Worker who is conscientious, reliable and motivated about making a difference. The successful candidate will represent the Brighter Futures program, as the frequent first point of contact for families, service providers, and the wider community ensuring that the Brighter Futures program is always presented as a professional and effective service.

Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualification(s) in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Social Science or related fields
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with families that involves the identification and analysation of safety and wellbeing concerns for children
  • Sound understanding of the range of issues faced by vulnerable children and families in Child Protection early intervention models of service provision
  • Proficiency in data management and high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organisation and with stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised as well as an effective team player with a positive can-do attitude

Desirable criteria

  • Working knowledge of the local child and family support sector for the area which you are applying
  • Experience in managing electronic files and databases

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 5, plus superannuation and salary packaging.
