Wesley Dalmar is a leading out of home care agency in NSW. We have a proud history of caring for children, young people and their families since 1893.

About the role

Wesley Dalmar is seeking a Team Leader to join the Out of Home Care team, based in South West Sydney. The position offers challenging and rewarding opportunities for the team leader to support a team of case managers to ensure children in out of home care are in safe, stable and suitable placements, as well as implement effective case management to children, young people, families and carers.

Essential criteria

  • bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Social Welfare
  • minimum of 2 years’ experience in casework practice in out of home care
  • an understanding of the Permanency Support Program and an ability to work within the framework
  • demonstrated ability to write reports to a professional standard
  • ability to liaise, network and maintain solid working relationships with community groups and government departments
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • availably to work flexible working hours including some evenings and weekends
  • current unrestricted driver’s licence.

Desirable criteria

  • leadership and management skills including experience in supervision of staff; leading practice reflection and team development
  • experience in managing electronic files and databases.

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 6, with capacity for salary packaging and the provision of a fully maintained motor vehicle available for private use. Superannuation is paid in addition at 9.5%.
