About the role

Youth Hope works with children, young people and their families to prevent issues of child safety, welfare and wellbeing escalating further and potentially placing children and young people at risk of entering the statutory child protection system.

We are looking for an outstanding Intake Caseworker who is conscientious, reliable and motivated about making a difference. As an Intake Caseworker you will be supporting a team of exceptional professionals who practise within an evidenced based framework by triaging referrals and maintaining client data. This position may be well suited to a person who is experienced in data management and is interested in moving industries and willing to blend their skills into the child protection area.

Essential criteria

  • demonstrated experience in data management including processing, storing, organising and maintaining multiple data bases and preparing statistical reports
  • tertiary qualification(s) in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Social Science, or related fields, or willing to complete a qualification within a reasonable timeframe
  • demonstrated experience communicating effectively with vulnerable individuals or families
  • demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders and funding bodies
  • demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • demonstrated ability to interpret data into meaningful outcomes
  • cultural competence and experience working alongside CALD and Aboriginal families
  • current NSW or National driver’s licence
  • successful applicant will need a Working with Children’s Check & National Criminal Record Check.

Desirable criteria

  • knowledge of the local child and family support sector for the area which you are applying
  • previous triage or intake experience
  • experience in creating new systems and processes to support to improve program outcomes.
