About the program

Wesley LifeForce is a national suicide prevention program which delivers suicide intervention training and supports communities to develop localised suicide prevention initiatives.

About the role

We have an opportunity for an identified First Nations role to engage with First Nations People to attend and participate in suicide prevention training in the community. This role closely liaises with First Nations Accredited Instructors, to deliver this vital training in the community.

You will work collaboratively with a fantastic group of First Nations Accredited Instructors, the LifeForce Training team and be encouraged to build relationships with existing First Nations stakeholders and workers in the local area. Your success in this role will be based on your administrative and coordination skills, engagement of stakeholders and promotion of the program to key community members.

You will most likely have previous experience in program coordination or training administration roles in a small to medium business, or in a training organisation or in a not for profit enterprise. You will be self-motivated and confident in building relationships.

This is a 0.6 part time position, max 22.8 hours per week fixed term for until 30 June 2023. Extension is possible depending on funding.

Essential criteria

  • this is a First Nations identified role
  • demonstrated experience and understanding of Victoria communities and key First Nations stakeholders, in terms of relationships, issues, sensitive communication and program delivery
  • demonstrated experience in delivering effective adult education programs
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
  • ability to travel extensively in Victoria.

Desirable criteria

  • strong knowledge and connection to First Nations communities within Victoria
  • proven administration experience
  • experience in training administration and organisational activities.

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions negotiable with generous salary packaging available for permanent employees.
