Women's Legal Service SA (WLSSA) is a state-wide specialist community legal centre. WLSSA provides legal advice, representation, community legal education and support services to disadvantaged women living in South Australia.

About the role

The role will be located within a multidisciplinary team. The team consists of Solicitors, Financial Counsellor and the Family Advocate. 

The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the volunteer programs in accordance with the business plan, funding guidelines and organisational policies and procedures;
  • Directing recruiting, training, supporting and recognising volunteers in order to maximise volunteer effectiveness and engagement;
  • Promoting the volunteer and legal placement programs by networking across a broad range of agencies; and
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, best practice and insurance is also a key component of the role. 

The successful applicant will need to have relevant tertiary qualification(s) and a minimum of 3 years experience.

The position is part-time (0.8 FTE). Salary is negotiable and dependent on experience.

Skills and experience

We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator with the following skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrated ability to ensure a highly efficient and effective volunteer program(s); and
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise, network and partner with external stakeholders such as universities, community services, and the legal profession.
