Women’s Legal Service WA is a not for profit community legal centre funded to provide free legal services for women in Western Australia. We work to redress inequalities in the legal system that adversely and disproportionately affect vulnerable women by providing quality information and expert assistance in family law, child protection and compensation for criminal injuries matters. We focus on victims and survivors of family and domestic violence.

Our high performing team provides gender-specific and trauma informed legal information, advice and supports to women around Western Australia in collaboration with our sector partners.

WLSWA is looking for lawyers passionate about working with women and making a difference to join our growing service. We currently have four vacancies to 30 June, 2022, with probable extensions. Lawyers are needed to work in both our regional program and Djinda service. We also have an additional shorter 4 month contract.

The successful applicants will support gender equality and share our commitment for their education and empowerment within the legal system to reshape and improve outcomes in their lives.

Solicitors who are committed to working to ensuring best outcomes for women in the legal system, are encouraged to apply.

We will also consider expressions of interest from restricted practitioners.

The allocation of legal roles will across the vacant solicitor positions will be negotiated with the successful applicants. Whilst these positions are full-time, there is also provision to configure part-time arrangements between successful applicants.

Based in the Perth office, the regional lawyers will be required to undertake some travel around WA.
