For 35 years, WIRES has been actively rehabilitating and preserving Australian wildlife and inspiring others to do the same. 

After the devastating bushfires and drought in 2020, and facing an extinction crisis, our mission has become even more critical. We are building our team to scale up our work and make an even greater impact for Australian Wildlife, and we are looking for someone ready to make a real difference.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This key position is focused on delivering exceptional service to WIRES corporate partners, nurturing positive long-term relationships that increase engagement and fundraising income to expand our rescue, care and education services. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to build strong relationships and a strong track record of achieving targets.

This is a newly created role so is a unique opportunity to make the program your own, and work with a great team in an exciting growth period.

We want you to think outside of the box so we’re not going to put you in one, if you have relevant experience in another industry, a passion for animals and know you can do the role justice, we want to hear from you.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in a fundraising, sales or development role in a not-for-profit, social impact, or community services environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire and retain new corporate partnerships or major donors
  • Excellent  written & verbal communication skills as demonstrated by successful presentations or proposals being accepted by a major partner or donor 
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and think outside the box
