This organisation was originally formed to provide community support to vulnerable children and young people of all backgrounds. Nearly three decades on, it has developed into a for-purpose social enterprise that currently operates outside-school-hours care services across South East Queensland and employs a team of community and social workers to deliver a wide range of parental support, youth services, mental health and wellbeing initiatives, community engagement and employment/training activities.
Over the years, this business has grown quietly and consistently. Now, with a strong financial footing, and growing maturity, the organisation has set ambitious goals to seize emerging opportunities and to deliver new service offerings to expand the achievement of its purpose.
While the organisation is moving into a new ambitious phase, applicants should understand the constraints and context of not-for-profits and social enterprises, and what it takes to lead governance within these parameters.
So, along with your invaluable experience with Boards, business, and social enterprise, it’s also vital that you demonstrate a growth mindset, flexible and diverse thinking, commercial sense, governance and financial acumen, great connections, and can balance ‘heart and head’.
Your collegiality and presence will be welcomed by a Board and Management Team that consists of honest, committed individuals with significant collective experience who are dedicated to the organisation and determined to take it to the next level.
According to the Chair: “The strength of this Board lies in the extraordinary way everyone pulls together.” It will be the power of a cohesive, innovative, and courageous Board, supporting a dedicated, vibrant and committed Management Team, that will drive this organisation forward.
