Windgap Foundation is currently experiencing exciting changes and growth, with the expansion of our business into the Southern Sydney region, there is an opportunity for a new multi-faceted role being the organisations Business Development & Vacancy Management.

For over 65 years, Windgap Foundation has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with an intellectual disability. We pride ourselves on the quality and range of services which support our participants in living their best life.

With the significant changes in the sector, there has and will continue to be considerable increases in service demand, this position has been developed to assist with our growth. As the role will be multi-faceted we envision that the successful applicant will be performing but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Continue to build brand awareness for Windgap services
  • Networking and relationship building within areas and communities that Windgap service
  • Market research for service gap analysis
  • Sourcing and assessing participants for Windgap vacancies across all services
  • NDIS Plan interpretation to assess participant funding levels
  • Liaise with or refer to the participants Support Coordinator, LAC, NDIS and or Allied Health Professionals for relevant assessments and reports as required
  • Manage service enquiries, including wait lists
  • Develop and maintain a register of participants requiring services based on Windgap service movements
  • Liaise with internal service delivery teams to understand vacancy fit (requirements)
  • Complete and or assist in the completion of NDIS SIL quotes
  • Undertake and or collate the relevant Intake, Risk Assessment and any other relevant reports  as required
  • Prepare and or assist in the preparation of participant Service Agreements
  • Develop, expand and maintain a high community profile for the purpose of brand building

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in a related business development/growth and or vacancy management role
  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) 
  • Understanding of the Quality Safeguards Commission reporting requirements
  • Extensive understanding of NDIS funding including the development of NDIS SIL quotes and NDIS Plan interpretation
  • Previous experience in relationship building, marketing/advertising leading to conversions
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing participants by applying assessment tools to identify support needs
  • Highly effective communication skills with demonstrated experience conducting interviews/assessments for people with a disability and or their person responsible and health professionals
  • Proven experience in coordinating vacancy management for both new and existing accommodation and programs with an understanding of appropriate rostering in line with cost centre budgets
  • Ability to maintain accurate and effective documentation in accordance with requirements
  • Comprehensive report writing skills and strong attention to detail with the required supporting materials
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and or previous experience supporting people with a disability and knowledge of community services sector
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence

  • An excellent communicator, who is enthusiast, positive, empathic and highly adaptable when working with people with disabilities and their families

This is a hands-on, challenging, and rewarding role that will require you to be open to working remotely and or at a site within the regions Windgap service which are currently in Southern and Eastern Sydney.
