Senior Specialist Support Coordinator

Windermere Child & Family Services

Want to know why it’s an exciting time to join Windermere? Firstly, there is no other organisation quite like us. Why do you ask? We are an independent community service organisation working across the South East of Victoria to help those who need it most. Our unique range of services include; Family Health & Wellbeing, Childhood Development, Education & Support, Early Intervention Therapy Services, NDIS Support Coordination and Plan Management, Homelessness Support, Counselling Services, assistance to support victims of trauma, assault and violent crimes and Bushfire Recovery Support Services.

Due to continued growth and transformation, Windermere is seeking a Senior Specialist SupportCoordinator to join a highly skilled and dedicated team who are committed to providing high quality services and go above and beyond for our consumers to coordinate and implement the support they need.

About the role

This is a newly created full-time position, reporting to the Team Leader of Support Coordination Services. You will play a pivotal role in supporting and empowering families and NDIS consumers living with highly complex needs to navigate the NDIS, identify goals and implement the NDIS plan, as well as strengthen their capacity and build their resilience to build lifelong networks and connections in order to access support and become – and remain – independent. You will also bring with you strong leadership and supervision experience to support, mentor and lead a small team of Specialist Support Coordinators.

This position is usually a hybrid model of working remotely and within our head office in Narre Warren. However, due to COVID-19 you will initially commence working remotely from home. Once restrictions are further relaxed, we will look to return to delivering services in the consumers natural settings (i.e. the consumers home).

About You

You will hold tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Allied Health and hold a current registration with or be eligible to register with your professional association. Furthermore, you will have relevant knowledge of the NDIS principles and demonstrated experience in Support Coordination, as well as customer-centric risk assessment practises in identifying and managing complex needs. Your exceptional leadership and people skills with a natural ability to listen, learn, influence and build effective relationships with your team will be key to your success.
