About the opportunity

We are seeking casual educators to join our Out of Hours Care (OSHC) program. This is an exciting opportunity to not only gain valuable work experience, but to really make the role your own by bringing your infectious energy in developing and delivering a unique, inclusive and fun-filled play-based programs to children aged 4 – 12 years. Furthermore, you will:

  • Assist in planning, preparing and delivering innovative play-based learning activities
  • Develop professional working relationships with families, school leaders in the West Gippsland and Cardinia community
  • Maintain excellent supervision and safety of children

The vacancies include 2-4 x Diploma qualified Educators and 2-4 educators that hold a Certificate III qualification or students that are currently completing their Bachelor in Teaching in Early Childhood Education or Physical Education.

Currently this program will focus on providing after school care based at Bayles Regional Primary School and Cardinia Primary School from Monday to Friday between 3pm – 6.30pm. The OSHC program will further expand in 2021 to include before school care and a holiday program as well as an OSHC program at Drouin South Primary school, which presents the opportunity for the positions to become permanent part-time.

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Be Diploma / Certificate III qualified in Early Childhood Education
  • Currently completing your Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education or Physical Education
  • Have the relevant First Aid Certificate (HLTAID004)
  • Hold a valid Working with Children’s Check
  • Demonstrated ability in working within the National Quality Framework
