Disability Support Worker - Supported Independent Living & Respite - Kyneton

Windarring Ltd is a Disability Service Provider in central Victoria. Windarring provides community participation programs, day programs, under eighteen year old programs, supported travel, holiday programs, supported living and respite care.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Windarring team as a Disability Support Worker, providing direct in-home support to clients, either in their own family home, out in the community or in one of Windarrings Millend transitional units.

This position will mainly be positioned at Kyneton, but may require you to work at our other day service sites in Castlemaine, Gisborne and Bendigo.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Diploma/Cert IV Disability Support Services or equivalent and relevant work experience in Disability Support Services or a related sector (including Medication Administration)
  • Participant focus: able to work collaboratively with participants, families and staff to ensure individualised service, safety and quality
  • People and organisation skills: can work effectively at all levels in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to cope with change & self-motivation; openness to change combined with a willingness to learn new concepts.
  • Ability to align with Windarring ethics, mission, values

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA;

  • Current First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis training
  • NDIS Worker screening check (which includes a Police check)
  • Working with Children’s Check; EMPLOYEE
  • Current valid Victorian Driver’s licence
  • Applicants must have the right the work in Australia and provide supporting documentation
  • Flexibility and willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evening, weekend, sleepovers and day service.
