About the Program
Maryknoll Therapeutic Community (MTC) is a 77-bed facility that provides a safe space for residents to recover and heal by exploring their own life experiences and learning from the experience and insights of others.
About the role
The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the Maryknoll Therapeutic Community. Directly accountable to the Head of Residential Eastern Region, the Assistant Manager will provide clinical expertise, supervision and support to the staff and residents. This role will ensure staffing coverage is maintained across all shifts and ensure the site has capacity to support clients and operate a safe quality service to all clients.
- Provide continuous oversite and review of the collaborative service model, operational procedures, systems and processes to support high quality delivery of services.
- Oversees the allocation of resources and budgets across their team or specialised area, optimising resource utilisation to achieve area or program-level objectives.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained and staff capacity is developed to the maximum of their scope of practice.
- Manage the day-to-day operational processes including in conjunction with the Head of Residential Eastern Region the development and ongoing review of systems and processes that ensure effective program delivery.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team which is aimed at helping residents achieve their unique treatment plan goals.
- Champion case management model of care to proactively engage and enable referrals to appropriate specialist services.
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated experience working within the alcohol and drug sector, mental health or other primary health care environment with an understanding of AOD service navigation with complex needs.
- Proven experience conducting assessments, case management and development of effective client-centred treatment plans for clients with complex needs.
- Strong people management and leadership skills in budgeting, workforce development and conflict management.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate effectively to a diverse group of people whilst leading a team of Clinicians.
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline (e.g., social work, youth work, mental health, psychology or similar).
- Certificate IV in AOD
