The Program:

The Therapeutic Community (TC) residents rehabilitate by exploring their own life experiences and learning from the experience and insights of others. In education, therapy, and work groups which form the basis of the daily routine everyone has an opportunity to explore new ways of experiencing life. The TC is all about change and growth in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

Barwon TC is a purpose-built facility which will commence operating in 2021.

The opportunity:

The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team working within a Therapeutic Community. A day in the life of this person could include: coordinating day-to-day operations, leading clinical reviews, facilitating group therapy, supervising staff, role modelling conflict resolution strategies or jumping into the kitchen to assist with lunch prep or driving the buses to take everyone for a swim.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Be an effective, compassionate, trustworthy, and inspirational leader
  • Substantial experience in the drug and alcohol sector
  • Demonstrated skills and experience relevant to leading a clinical team
  • Client assessment skills and experience
  • Previous experience working within a Therapeutic Community or residential setting (Desirable)

Your qualifications will include:

  • Tertiary in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or similar
  • Qualifications in AOD and/or mental health or ability to work toward AOD core competencies
