The advertised Community Support Worker positions, based in Cessnock, will provide services to people with AOD use disorders and other co-occurring conditions, within the context of a mixed gender residential therapeutic community.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Qualification n AOD / Mental Health / Community Services or related field
  2. Experience working with, clients that have AOD use disorders and associated issues
  3. Knowledge of AOD treatment sector
  4. Group work skills
  5. Knowledge and understanding of harm minimisation strategies
  6. Current First Aid Certificate
  7. Current drivers’ licence
  8. Computer literacy, including the use of electronic client information systems
  9. Commitment to working as part of a team

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Ability to work evening and weekend shifts, if required
  2. Understanding of the Therapeutic Community model

Remuneration:

  • Remuneration is in accordance with the SCHADS Award
  • Salary packaging available
