COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER (AOD) WHOS Newcastle Hub

WHOS (We Help Ourselves) is one of the largest alcohol and other drug (AOD) non-government treatment providers in Australia offering a range of evidence-based therapeutic programs. WHOS has services based in NSW and Queensland. Further information on WHOS can be accessed at - www.whos.com.au

WHOS Newcastle Day Program (Newcastle Hub) is a six-week drug and alcohol outpatient program for people on opioid substitution treatment. The program consists of group work, health promotion and case management.

We are seeking a part time Community Support Worker (AOD) to join the team.

Essential:

  • Minimum Cert IV in AOD/Community Services or related field
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable and confident working in a flexible manner with complex clients
  • Computer literacy skills and relevant systems experience
  • Proven organisational skills and ability to prioritise and problem solve
  • Group work skills
  • Ability to provide quality case management, develop care plans and facilitate referrals
  • Sound knowledge of harm reduction strategies
  • Commitment to working as part of a team
  • Current First Aid Certificate and Drivers License

Remuneration: Negotiated based on qualifications and experience equivalent to SCHADS Award.
