POSITION RATIONALE:

This is a new position supported through multiple funding streams for the agencies Primary Prevention Projects. The role has been established to help WCC strengthen the Family Violence early intervention and primary prevention activities. The successful candidate will work closely to support the Team Leader with a range of programs, events and activities.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Qualification or equivalent experience in social work, community services
  • Demonstrated interest in Gender Equity and Family Violence and understanding of intersectional feminism
  • Demonstrated skills in primary prevention and early intervention
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • High standard of interpersonal skills including effective communication, verbal and written skills and good computer skills, and group facilitation skills an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A positive attitude to working with volunteers
  • Demonstrated capacity for resourcefulness, with an ability to manage difficult conversations with people experiencing hardship.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Conditions will be in accordance with the Social, Community, Home and Disability Services (SCHADS) Industry Award 2010, Level 4, pay point 1 $36.62 per hour
  • This position is offered as a part time position (22.8 hours/week) but there is some flexibility
  • This is a fixed‐term contract for 9 months from appointment with potential of extension
  • An above award salary plus super and leave loading, is offered. Generous salary sacrifice arrangements, if taken up by the employee, can significantly increase the net value of the remuneration received.
