We acknowledge and respect the continuation of cultural, spiritual, and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples across the nation.

Our vision at Whitelion Youth is for a world where no young person is left behind and where all young people have the right to equitable opportunities to reach their potential. Our staff and volunteers work to support young people at risk to build positive connections and meaningful pathways to work.

THE ROLE

You are responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of Whitelion Youth’s Junior RISE program, a supported high school transition program for young people at risk in years 6 and 7 in the Campbelltown LGA.

You will work collaboratively with schools, students, and parents/carers to develop individualised learning goals that support students to gain a strong foundation in education, increasing their confidence to engage and learn.

In addition to working with young people, you will provide case planning and support for families, providing parents with a greater understanding of their young person’s emotional experiences while teaching specific skills that can assist parents in being supportive and empathetic, increasing connection and improving emotional communication in the family.

ABOUT YOU

You will have demonstrated experience in facilitating change with young people in a strengths-based way that encourages them to build relationships, develop self-responsibility, self-esteem and confidence. You will also be an expert in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs within budget and meeting contractual requirements.

You will have previous experience in providing case management to vulnerable young people and their families, as well as a demonstrated understanding of, and training in, relevant child protection legislation.

Additionally, you will be confident in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and have sound computer skills including data entry and the use of Microsoft 365 applications.

Experience using DEX Data Exchange would be desirable. Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or at least two years’ experience in youth work, education, social sciences or similar is essential.
