The Women’s Housing Company (WHC) Limited is a specialist provider of housing and homelessness services to women with and without children. With over 35 years of history, experience and commitment, the WHC has grown and expanded its services to provide crisis, transitional, social and affordable housing across Sydney, the Hunter and Coffs Harbour. The WHC is a Tier 1 Community Housing Provider, registered under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing, is a company limited by guarantee and operates as a registered charity.

The Role

The Senior Management Accountant operates as an essential business partner to the WHC and is responsible for providing financial reporting and analysis to the business that aids decision making and supports business growth and operating effectiveness. It reports to an experienced CFO and will work closely with members of the Senior Management Team.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Supporting the organisation to meet its financial goals by implementing the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Acting as a business partner to the Senior Management Team
  • Supporting the organisation’s strategic and growth plans by providing accurate and timely financial management and KPI reporting and analysis, information for tenders and analysis that facilitates decision making
  • Supporting the WHC to manage its risk and maintain high levels of corporate governance and compliance by producing KPI and management reporting, papers and reports to aid decision making at the Senior Management Team and Board level
  • Contributing to the development and automation of finance policies, processes and systems.

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess a majority of the following attributes:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce or accounting
  • CPA or CA qualification
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Management Accountant with a focus on growth, systems implementation and performance enhancement
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and Intermediate skills in other Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to partner with and engage stakeholders
  • Experience within a medium sized organisation will be favourably considered but is not mandatory
  • Mandatory National Criminal History Check
  • We have been granted an exemption in respect of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and are looking to appoint a female candidate to this position
