Women’s Housing Company are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant and Communications Officer to support our Executive Team, located in Surry Hills – Sydney.

The Women’s Housing Company (WHC) Limited is a specialist provider of housing and homelessness services for women with and without children.

With almost 40 years of history, experience and commitment, we have grown and expanded our services to provide crisis, transitional, social and affordable housing for women across 26 LGAs in NSW.

We are a Tier 1 Community Housing Provider managing 1206 properties registered under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing, as a company limited by guarantee, operating as a registered charity.

Role Summary & Purpose:

The Executive Assistant/Communications Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and provides high-level administration, communication, project and governance support to the CEO, the Executive, and the Board.

This includes organising and coordinating Board and committee meetings, papers, and reports; coordinating corporate events and internal and external communications; providing project management and business development support; and providing diary and other administrative support to the CEO as required to support our company objectives and plans.

The Executive Assistant/ Communications Officer reports to the CEO and supports our Executive Team and WHC Communication.

Whilst this position is a standalone role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to drive effective Executive Team support and company communication, internally and externally for Women’s Housing Company.

Your Key Priorities Include:

  • Supporting the CEO by providing administrative support, diary management, organising meetings and papers, coordinating the Governance Calendar, organising Board and annual general meetings and events; and coordinating Board papers and reports. coordinating internal and external communication such as newsletters, promotional collateral and media releases.
  • Drafting and publishing social media content and maintaining the WHC internet
  • Undertaking business and administration projects and Supporting the CEO and other Executives with special projects.

Candidate Attributes & Qualifications:

This job is for you if you:

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience with high-level administration and executive support roles.
  • Come with excellent written communication skills with experience in preparing minutes, papers, and quality communication material (e.g. newsletters, minutes, reports).
  • Are savvy in technology, including the ability to manage a website and Intranet and coordinate social media presence.
  • Have excellent co-ordination skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Are organised and efficient, able to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Have tertiary qualifications in business, communications, project management or related fields or equivalent experience
  • Can achieve Mandatory National Police Check clearance (we conduct this as part of our recruitment compliance checks)
  • Have the right to work full time, without restrictions in Australia

Role & Salary Package Details:

This role is based in our Surry Hills Office, Sydney and is full-time at 38 hours per week.

That said, we are open to hearing from you should a part-time work pattern be preferred, providing you meet the candidate criteria and have the required relevant experience.
