About the role:

The Community Engagement and Partnerships Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the WHC’s Community and Tenant Engagement Strategy and associated programs, as well as developing and monitoring partnerships with the key purpose of building community sustainability, supporting WHC’s commitment to tenant participation and improving wellbeing and tenancy sustainment.

This role reports directly to the Head, Community Housing Operations, and works collaboratively with all areas of the organisation.

  • Full time permanent position (35 hours p/w)

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the WHC to achieve its community and tenant engagement goals by developing and implementing community and tenant engagement strategies, programs, and plans
  • Develop and leverage partnerships with community, council, and support organisations in line with strategic and business priorities to enhance social inclusion, community engagement and support tenants to improve wellbeing and tenancy sustainment
  • Grow the range and reach of community and tenant engagement programs that WHC can provide through securing additional funding sources
  • Continually grow tenant engagement and participation programs through relevant marketing, communication, and tenant advisory groups, with consideration to language, education, location, and technology barriers
  • Support the improvement of quality service delivery by creating opportunities for tenant consultation and feedback and analysing, communicating, and reporting on the results and outcomes to the business
  • Support the delivery of successful community engagement programs by collecting and collating tenant demographic information, participation statistics, profiling and undertaking benchmarking analysis
  • Support the continuous improvement of the WHC by supporting the business with customer, community and tenant consultation and communication
  • Support the Housing Services team meet its compliance and legislative obligations by ensuring the timely and accurate recording of tenant information in the IT system(s) and maintaining strict adherence to workplace policies and procedures
  • Increase the profile and reputation of the WHC and the broader community housing sector by building strategic networks, attending industry forums and promoting community housing to local organisations that work with tenants and potential tenants

Essential criteria:

  • Undergraduate qualification relevant to position, eg. a degree in social science, community engagement/development or related field
  • 5 years relevant experience
  • Experience and training in project management
  • Experience in tender writing and grant submissions
  • Experience in community housing (desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical and research skills including report writing
