- Seeking a Finance Officer, West Winds Community Centre - Woodbridge
West Winds Community Centre is a member of the Neighbourhood House network, located in the southern Channel region of Tasmania. An exciting opportunity exists to join this vibrant community organisation. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Finance Officer to be part of our team.
YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Manager and liaising closely with the Board Treasurer, the Finance Officer is responsible for:
- Maintenance of all relevant financial records using accounting software (MYOB) to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of recording of monies, receipts and expenses.
- Compliance with all relevant legislative, regulations and organisational policies.
- Processing of salaries and maintaining employee records including time sheet monitoring, leave records and taxation.
- Preparation of accounts payable and receivable files, processing and payments.
- Monitoring cash flow and cash management, acquittal and reconciliation of all accounts.
- Timely preparation of monthly financial reports for the Board and Manager.
- Preparation and monitoring of the annual operating and project budgets and financial compliance schedule.
- Providing grant acquittal reporting.
- Contribute to corporate governance processes including Work Health & Safety Standards, risk management and assets management
YOUR SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Diploma or Certificate in financial management.
- Experience in and knowledge of financial management /bookkeeping practices using MYOB and Microsoft Office applications including strong Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work ethically and with appropriate levels of confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks, meet required deadlines and work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Ability and willingness to exercise initiative, discretion or professional judgement within the constraints of organisational policy.
- A satisfactory National Police Check.
- A Working with Vulnerable Persons (‘WWVP’) registration.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
The position is classified at Level 4 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHCADS) Award 2010.
Subject to a 3-month probation period (with an option to extend) and annual performance reviews.
Salary point to be determined according to qualifications and experience.
Superannuation will be paid according to legislative requirements.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Engaged to work 10 hours per week (part time) to be worked to meet the business requirements as negotiated with the Manager.
