We are seeking candidates who are interested in joining the Westhaven talent pool for NDIS Support Coordinator This is a great opportunity for you to be considered for Support Coordinator roles that may come up in Westhaven over the next 6 months. Ongoing and temporary employment opportunities may be offered. This talent pool is to be used for positions located in Dubbo, NSW.

About the Role:

As an NDIS Support Coordinator, you will develop and coordinate a wide range of supports which empower participants to live the life they choose.

You will monitor and maximise participant NDIS budgets to enhance their quality of life, and build long-term respectful relationships with participants, guardians and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities include

  • Assist with implementing and monitoring NDIS plans
  • Delivering professional customer service and understanding of the needs of a person so you can support them achieve their life goals and aspirations.
  • Establishing community links and partnerships that facilitate client capacity to connect and participate in their community.
  • Facilitate meetings to negotiate and establish service agreements with providers; including quotable services
  • Prepare plans specific to the audience and their communication needs.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with vulnerable people
  • A relevant Qualification i.e. Social Work, Allied Health, or other registered Health Professional, Certificate IV in Disability or Mental Health will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated understanding of client eligibility criteria for different sources of funding and ability to translate this understanding into a service plan that reflects the maximum utilisation of funding
  • Sound understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • Knowledge of "Reasonable and Necessary" criteria and a strong working knowledge of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • Demonstrated organisational skills to effectively manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure communication is aligned to the audience
  • Sound technology skills in the use of Google Suite, Client Management Systems and other technical applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and within a small team
  • Valid C Class driving licence
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • Completion of the 'NDIS Worker Orientation Module' training.ndiscommission.gov.au is required before commencement.
  • Current Working with Childrens Check a National Criminal Record Check obtained within the last 6 months.
