About the role

Cohealth seeks a Practice Excellence Coach for our AOD Treatment Services Program. This role involves two elements; supporting the AOD team to achieve clinical best practice and deliver high-quality services; along with providing direct service provision through an individual case load.

Your daily duties will vary but your main focus will include:

  • Develop the AOD Treatment Services Program team's capacity and capability to work to the top of their scope of practice and in self-organising ways, including peer coaching, peer conflict resolution, group problem solving, team performance monitoring, objective setting, individual supervision and evidenced based practice.
  • Provide clinical governance and leadership to support continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence for AOD services at Cohealth.
  • Maintain an individual case load and provide evidence-based, client-centred, best practice interventions for those accessing the service.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent), eligibility to join relevant professional registration bodies with a minimum of four years professional experience in the AOD sector.
  • Post graduate qualifications in leadership/management and/or Addiction Medicine, CBT or similar will be highly regarded.
  • Sound understanding of the key issues affecting people with multiple/complex needs.
  • Sound understanding of evidence-based counselling therapies.
  • Highly developed understanding of the philosophy and principles of recovery, trauma informed care, community development and harm reduction.
  • Demonstrated understanding of effective clinical governance and continuous quality improvement along with accreditation, discipline standards and codes of practice.
  • Experience and demonstrated skills in the provision of supervision for counselling and treatment staff.
