About the Role

The Exceptionally Complex Support Needs Practitioner will support the delivery of all three ECSN functions the Lead Practitioner will principally support the Specialist Team Support - Capacity Building and Specialist Team Support - Crisis Response.

The ECSN Lead Practitioner -South and East will be primary relationship contact for ECSN in the southern and eastern regional and metropolitan areas of Victoria. They will work closely with the ECSN Lead Practitioner -North and West and the ECSN Lead Practitioner -Resources and Mapping.

Your daily duties will be diverse however, will include:

• Lead and/or actively contribute to knowledge exchange opportunities with other organisations including communities of practice, to share data and practice learnings to optimise service development and evidence-based best practice aligned with the NDIS operating environment
• Work with NDIS providers to provide guidance on how to respond to participants with exceptionally complex support needs
• Document better practice and share findings in a way that is useful for NDIA, other ECSN Providers and service providers across the sector
• Share knowledge and experience of risk management strategies and practices related to participants with exceptionally complex support needs; advise on evidenced-based recruitment and workforce management programs to build market capability and capacity including availability of suitably skilled staff
• Assist services to identify training needs and support to develop skills and expertise in working with the client group
• Monitor and document the availability of universal and specialised mainstream services and community participation opportunities for participants

About You

Our ideal candidate for this candidate will have:

• Completion of a University degree level qualification. Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to- Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, and Nursing
• A comprehensive understanding of the key issues affecting people with multiple and complex needs
• A sound understating of trauma-informed practice
• A sound understanding of risk management
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Ability to contribute to a positive team environment
• Demonstrates self-awareness and the ability to self-regulate during difficult situations
