About the role

High-Risk Accommodation Response for COVID is a newly funded program designed to support accommodation providers to prevent COVID 19. The program is an end to end program that works with each accommodation area to assess readiness, support readiness and in the event of an outbreak manage the situation.

As the Community Engagement Manager, you will focus on building local communities' access to and information of the current pandemic; to improve access and equity for cohealth's diverse population groups. Your proven experience in community engagement, leadership and your tertiary qualification will see you deliver on the following:

  • Leadership across a range of strategies aimed at increasing prevention and preparedness including testing, support to at-risk accommodation groups, and outbreak management responses in the CALD communities
  • Work closely with Local Government Areas (LGAs) to identify existing services and partnerships to provide targeted local responses to new case identification, testing and health promotion
  • COVID testing and development and implementation of well-considered action plan to bridge the gaps
  • Identify relevant promotional opportunities to improve communication with CALD communities
  • Contribute to daily reporting on implementation plans
  • Contribute findings from community assessments to improve the uptake of testing and the preparedness planning and outcomes
  • Support the work of the Community Engagement Leads that are part of the LGA teams
  • Undertake duties as directed by the line manager in a fast-paced and evolving environment

About you:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline such as community development
  • Qualification in community development, social work or related area
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a role with skills and approaches demonstrably relevant to that of Community Engagement
  • Detailed understanding of current trends in community engagement and development within community health services and local government settings
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sophisticated communications, marketing, media, partnership strategies and activities
  • Managing multi-function teams and intersectoral partnerships in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Ability to manage complex projects, organise and prioritise tasks; work to deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Exemplary verbal and written communications skills including the ability to produce high-quality reports, project plans, briefings, submissions
