About the role

The AOD Counselling & Recovery Clinician position provides relevant psycho-social and mental health support through the delivery of recovery-orientated, evidence-based and therapeutic counselling interventions in line with the cohealth MARAM Framework.

To enhance your clinical practice, you will be provided with:

  • Individual clinical supervision
  • Group clinical supervision
  • Clinical reviews to support your clinical decision making
  • A friendly peer support network of professionals from AOD Treatment Services
  • Ongoing PDP and evidence-based news and training
  • Individual line management supervision

Your daily duties will vary but your main focus will include:

  • Completing comprehensive AOD Assessments with clients and provide recovery-orientated, evidence based and therapeutic intervention and counselling services
  • Provide care and recovery coordination services as required, including care planning and referrals to support services
  • In conjunction with treatment team clinicians, provide crisis intervention management for complex and challenging clients from an AOD and mental health perspective.

About You:

  • Degree level tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Social Work or similar, with minimum two years demonstrated experience working in the AOD or related sector
  • Ability to complete comprehensive AOD assessments with clients and undertake care & recovery coordination as required
  • Experience working with, and an awareness of the issues that affect, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people from marginalised communities
  • Ability to speak a relevant community language would be an advantage
