About the Role

The Health Program Development Officer will work collaboratively with key stakeholders, partners and staff on a number of projects that will support long-term health improvements of the community. This includes the development and management of the COVID-19 response in our region.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in project or program management preferably in a health, local government and/or community services environment. Key to this role is the confidence to develop positive relationships with various stakeholders in the health and non-health sectors and the ability to produce high quality documents and reports, analyse information and solve problems.

This position is full-time and is funded until June 2022. Future employment is subject to ongoing funding.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Significant experience in project/program management preferably in a health, local government and/or community services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience with writing high quality documents.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to foster and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the capacity to analyse information and plan approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability with initiative and to work autonomously but also collaborate and contribute positively to a broader team.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills to manage a number of parallel priorities in order to achieve desired outcomes within specific timeframes.
  • Proven ability to utilise information technology tools in particular the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) to an intermediate level.

Desirable:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in, health, business and or community services.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the broader health and or primary health care setting within the Australian context.
