Help support major mental health reform in Victoria to ensure that everyone is supported.
In this role you will support the Locals leadership team in providing advice, guidance, support and expertise aligned to best practice training experience.
This is an amazing opportunity to support the future of peer and community-led mental health services.
The aim is for our Locals team to work with the community to ensure the people who call Frankston home get valuable and supportive mental health care in their community, no matter their experience. Our Locals team will welcome everyone who visits the Mental Health Local, as well as a person's family or carers. The support on offer will be relevant and available whenever it's needed.
We understand that this doesn't just happen so our teams that support the operation are critical. The Training Coordinator plays a key role in setting our people and teams up to succeed.
Be a part of the change.
Wellways, Mentis Assist and Peninsula Health are working together to provide mental health and wellbeing supports in Frankston to ensure everyone can access treatment and care closer to home.
The new Frankston Mental Health Local will provide welcoming and inclusive support for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health challenges, including people with co-occurring alcohol and drug addiction treatment and care needs.
We are working with the local community and people who have a personal experience of mental health issues and recovery to build these services so they are the best they can be. Our services will be led by lived experience and coproduced with the local community so they are the best they can be.
The Frankston Mental Health Local is committed to reconciliation, lived experience and inclusivity. We strongly encourage and warmly welcome people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people with a lived experience of mental health and disability and people who identify as LGBTIQA+ to apply. Even if you only meet some of the criteria, we'd love to hear from you.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, (employed by Wellways) you will support the Frankston Mental Health Locals leadership team in managing and coordinating all elements of team training needs and requirements.
You will be supported by the central education and training teams across the Locals partnership organisations and through their training services and products you will ensure the Frankston Locals team receive the training they need, from a compliance and best practice perspective.
This is a newly formed team, so you will be equally involved in supporting the teams journey through team formation and culture, as well as day-to-day operational efficiencies and rhythm through sound procedure, policy and system knowledge. In addition, you will support induction activities and ensure a positive induction experience. It really will suit someone who can balance forward thinking and planning with hands-on operational training needs.
The role will offer variety from training coordination to training delivery and planning. If this sounds like something you will enjoy, we warmly encourage you to apply and share your experience and ideas with us.
The Mental Health Locals teams will have an amazing opportunity to drive much-needed mental health improvements for our communities.
