Well Life Services is seeking an Operations Manager who is flexible, innovative, motivated and passionate about delivering exceptional services and supports to individuals living with disability and/or requiring therapeutic support. We require someone with energy, enthusiasm and initiative who will thrive in an agile and changing environment. The person we seek will establish the systems and processes to allow Well Life Services to continue to support our growing number of participants whilst focusing on person-centred service delivery of a high standard.

The successful applicant will have a comprehensive knowledge of organisational transition to the NDIS, the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework Commission, having demonstrated experience in this area and also specific plan and service design experience that meets the Practice Standards. This position aims to provide a balance between the compliance requirements of NDIS, management and development of our human resources department along with the diverse and challenging day to day business operations.

Specific Responsibilities of the role:

The responsibilities of the Operations Manager include:

  1. Participants and Compliance: Manage the ongoing relationship with our key funding partner NDIS and ensure all WLS participants are receiving optimum benefit from WLS services
  2. Human Resources: Manage the WLS Services and Therapy Team
  3. Operations: Develop and maintain all WLS business systems

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of working with people who have a disability and/or complex and challenging behaviours
  • Tertiary qualifications (or relevant experience) in Social Sciences, Social Welfare, Psychology, Community Services and/or equivalent experience in service delivery in the disability sector
  • Advanced knowledge of the disability sector, the NDIS, relevant legislation, regulations, standards and industry trends
  • The ability to engage stakeholders in developing and maintaining strong working relationships and gaining their participation around key decisions and initiatives
  • A high level of computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comparable systems
  • Leadership and management experience including staff supervision, staff performance management, budget development and financial management skills
  • Planning skills
  • Experienced in working within a Quality Management System
  • Current driver’s licence
  • It is a requirement of this position to acquire and maintain a Working with Children Blue Card.
  • It is a requirement of this position to maintain requirements for a satisfactory Australian Federal Police Check.

Highly Desirable Skills for the role:

  • Significant and proven experience and a record of achievement in managing the delivery of Health and Human Services
  • Demonstrated effective people leadership including the management of workplace culture, performance matters, complaints and concerns.
  • Demonstrated experience to service budget management with a knowledge of financial principles and its applications.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to negotiate complex matters and resolve conflict.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing funding applications, business plans and reports
  • Knowledge of service models and the ability to design and implement service improvement strategies
  • An understanding of Mental Health issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity, Ethical Practice, Cultural Diversity Statement and Occupational Health and Safety as they relate to this role
  • A comprehensive understanding and experience working with SharePoint and Power Diary and Deputy
  • Ability to manage and develop online marketing
