We are passionate about creative collaboration for good.

OPPORTUNITY

This part-time digital marketing position is for half a day a week (at $30/hour) for an initial four months with an opportunity to extend. It is all about generating online sales for the launch of our Summer collection and for Christmas. It would suit someone who is enrolled in or has recently finished a marketing degree and would benefit from an opportunity to put their skills to use for a great cause. We would also consider a fashion student who has digital marketing knowhow.

THE ROLE

  • Help drive WEFTshop’s sales online, which in turn drives our ability to generate work for artisans from Burma’s ethnic minority communities
  • Learn about how an ethical social enterprise works, and use your content creation skills and digital engagement knowledge across social media channels, Shopify and Mailchimp to build customer reach, engagement and sales
  • Investigate and apply for Google or other grants to fund ad spend
  • Bring your ideas and enthusiasm to our mission to strengthen a successful social enterprise and online shop for good

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create digital marketing content in collaboration with WEFTshop’s creative director Emma Kate Wallace, including EDM writing, social media posting, photo editing and website content management
  • Use Shopify’s and Mailchimp’s integrated marketing tools and analytics to drive engagement and online sales
  • Connect with ethical fashion influencers and cultivate relationships for promoting WEFTshop’s mission
  • Analyse inbuilt digital marketing channel reports to inform digital marketing actions and priorities

CRITERIA & SKILLS

  • Knowledge of, and skills in, social media, Electronic Direct Marketing (EDM) and website platforms for driving customer engagement and sales. (WEFTshop uses Mailchimp for EDM and ecommerce platform Shopify, and is happy for the right candidate to master them on the job)
  • Hands-on content creation, photo editing and writing skills for EDM, social media and website management
  • Ability to improve our use of digital marketing channels, e.g. cross-posting or connecting tools
  • Ability to analyse digital marketing performance and use findings to strengthen supporter engagement and online sales
  • Work from home (own equipment required). Sydney is the preferred location for meeting up with the WEFTshop team, but this role could be based anywhere.
  • Available to work a standard half a day a week (3.8 hours paid at $30/hr)

If you have any questions about the role, please contact [email protected] using the subject line: Digital Marketing Coordinator enquiry via EthicalJobs, or call Debra on 0407 299 007.
