West Connect Domestic Violence Services (WCDVS) provides a holistic response to women and children who are experiencing domestic and family violence and related homelessness. Our organisation works to prevent and respond to domestic violence through evidence-based programs, support and services. We utilise the principles of empowerment and self-determination to support and advocate for woman and children to live lives free from inequality and violence. West Connect Domestic Violence Service works across the Penrith/Nepean/Blue Mountains/Blacktown/Hills and Hawksbury districts.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

We are seeking caseworkers who are skilled in providing specialist support and collaborative case management to women and their child(ren) who are survivors of domestic violence. The successful applicants will be willing to undertake further training in using a trauma-informed and strength-based approach in their work.

ESSENTIAL

  • Understanding the drivers and gendered nature of violence against women
  • Proven ability to provide case management providing direct support, assistance and advocacy for women and children
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, other services and government agencies
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
  • Ability to work remotely from your place of residence
  • Availability to participate on an on-call roster
  • Current NSW drivers’ licence

DESIRABLE

  • Ability to work with Aboriginal and CALD women and children in a culturally sensitive manner
  • Current first aid certificate

Employment as per SCHCADS Award

  • Pay range from Paypoint 1 $67,300 to Paypoint 4 $73,246, depending on experience, plus 9.5% Superannuation plus Salary Sacrifice.
