Practitioners - The Orange Door

wayss

Wayss is the largest provider of housing and family violence services in the South East Melbourne area.

We exist so that people have access to safe, sustainable and affordable housing and our vision is to be the major provider of social housing services and leading-edge client support programs in the Southern Melbourne Metropolitan region.

Wayss is a leading service provider which delivers support to those experiencing family violence in the home. Our family violence programs provide support and assist women and their family to access the services they need.

About the Program

A key recommendation of the Royal Commission and the Roadmap for Reform was to establish a network of Support and Safety Hubs (‘Hubs’) across Victoria to provide a new way for women, children and young people experiencing family violence, and families who need assistance with the care and wellbeing of children to access the services they need to be safe and supported. These Hubs are known as The Orange Door.

The Orange Door delivers a fundamental change to the way we work with women, children and families, and men. The Southern Melbourne Area (SMA) Orange Door will be the largest in the state with the central hub based in Dandenong and two access points based in the City of Casey and Cardinia Shire.

Orange Doors bring together different workforces and practices in an integrated team and consolidated intake point that creates a new way of providing support for women, children, young people and families experiencing family violence; perpetrators of family violence and families in need of support with the care, development and well-being of infants, children and young people.
