We are here for all people facing homelessness and family violence. We support them to have a safe, secure and affordable home that helps them to live a better life.

We are now seeking an Intake & Assessment Worker within the Women's Services team.

About the role:

This role aims to provide information, assessment and referral to internal and external programs and immediate telephone support to women and women with children who are experiencing family violence and/or are homeless or at risk of homelessness who have multiple barriers to access appropriate housing.

About you:

We are looking for a passionate, highly organised individual who can work collaboratively as part of a team and can demonstrate a commitment to the delivery of service.

Successful candidates will bring the following:

  • Diploma/Degree in Community Services or Social Work or equivalent
  • Experience in Community Services Sector (Desirable Family Violence and/or Homelessness)
  • Demonstrated experience and capability in:
    • Risk assessment
    • Client needs assessment
    • Case Management
    • Advocacy and support
    • Client Referrals
    • Working within a multi-agency environment
  • A well-developed knowledge of family violence and the housing and support needs appropriate to women and women with children experiencing family violence.
  • Excellent client service skills with a high level of confidence in dealing with people of various backgrounds.
  • Ability to work autonomously under limited direction and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Highly developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills to effectively respond to women in crisis
  • Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Full Victorian Driver’s Licence
