About the role

The Diversity and Inclusion and Employee Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Wayss’ employee engagement program and implementing Wayss Diversity and Inclusion strategy in conjunction with all business units. This includes advocating for and facilitating employee engagement across the organisation and at individual business unit levels to develop and maintain a safe, high performance and engaged workforce. This is a 9 month, fixed term position.

Duties will include:

  • Conducting regular employee engagement pulse surveys to understand current staff engagement and opportunities for improvement
  • Working with the General Manager, People Enablement, and broader Executive team to develop and implement initiatives to build a culture of engagement and wellbeing and improve staff retention
  • Building constructive relationships with staff and service line managers, working in collaboration with them to implement targeted engagement initiatives
  • Actively managing the consultation processes to maximise the success and impact of engagement programs, including developing opportunities for cross functional staff engagement
  • Coordinating the development and implementation of action plans to respond to the outcomes of staff engagement surveys and regular pulse surveys
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge and awareness of Wayss client services and strategic initiatives to identify where complementary engagement initiatives and communications may be required
  • Developing and implementing Wayss Diversity and Inclusion strategy in conjunction with all business units, including the Rainbow Tick Accreditation and initiatives to improve cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients

About you

You will have:

  • A relevant Human Resources qualification
  • Previous experience in delivering employee engagement outcomes and diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in defining and delivering project priorities and outcomes
  • Highly developed creative thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others
  • The ability to work autonomously, under limited direction and collaboratively in diverse team environments
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in community services and knowledge of the family violence and housing services system is desirable
  • Well developed computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office

This role requires a current Driver’s Licence and valid ‘Employment’ category - Working with Children Check Card. The candidate will need to have successfully completed Wayss pre-employment screening, a police check and provide evidence of full Covid-19 vaccination compliance.
