We are looking for a passionate and professional Human Resources Volunteer Manager with relevant experience who wants to join our team of volunteers at Warriors 4 Wildlife on a part time term of 25hrs per month, for a minimum of six months.

Warriors 4 Wildlife Inc. is a 24hr rescue service dedicated to rescuing sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. We assist wildlife shelters with donations of supplies through fundraising and help to educate the public in wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and habitat conservation.

The ongoing Duties and Commitments that the Warriors 4 Wildlife’s Volunteer HR Manager will guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for Warriors 4 Wildlife Inc. Primary Objectives:

  • Recruiting and staffing
  • Organisational departmental planning
  • Performance management and improvement systems
  • Organisation development
  • Compliance with regulatory concerns regarding volunteers
  • Volunteer on boarding, development, needs assessment, and training
  • Policy development and documentation
  • Health and safety of the workforce
  • Development of the Human Resources department
  • Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasises quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance
  • Personal ongoing development. Responsibilities
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organisation
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • Establishes and leads the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce
  • Interviews management and executive position candidates; serves as part of the interview team for position finalists
  • Manages the preparation and maintenance of such reports as are necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment
  • Participates in executive, management, and charity staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of volunteers
  • Nurture a positive working environment
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management Qualifications The human resource manager ought to have
  • Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive
  • People oriented and results driven • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Knowledge and experience working with a non-profit preferable but not essential. Evaluation The effectiveness of the HR’s role, conduct and position description may be evaluated as part of the evaluation of the committee itself.
