West Arnhem Regional Council covers an area of almost 50,000 km2 of stunning natural landscape in the western part of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.

More than two thirds of the region’s population of just over 6,000 identify as Aboriginal Australians, who reside in a collection of towns, communities and outstations. Council provides a range of local government services to five towns and communities across four wards with many popular tourist destinations.

About the role

The People & Learning Coordinator - Training is responsible for the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of innovative and contemporary learning and development programs that support strategies aimed at building capability of West Arnhem Regional Council employees.

This position will develop and implement a contemporary Learning & Development Framework to complement the unique cross-cultural needs of Council’s diverse workforce.

About you

• This is an exciting new role for a motivated individual with experience in designing and delivering learning activities and with a genuine desire to have an impact on the upskilling of a multi-disciplined workforce.
• Demonstrated experience in a Learning & Development role, encompassing the responsibility for design and delivery of learning activities.
• Accomplished presentation and facilitation skills with knowledge and experience in applying Australian Qualifications Framework.

About employment benefits

• Remuneration Package $93,178 - $98,730 (including salary $81,366 - $86,214)
• 6 weeks annual leave
