Trades Hall has an exciting position open for a socials content producer/digital marketer to work in our communications team, driving our fundraising and online organising projects. We are looking for someone who is a positive, energetic, well-organised marketer who can juggle a lot of plates at once, and can manage digital advertising campaigns end-to-end.

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Your day-to-day work will involve fast-paced content production in a creative and risk-taking team.
  • You will help distil complex ideas about social and economic justice (including industrial campaigns) into highly engaging, original content.
  • You will support organisers to build lists, generate leads, and target advertising effectively.
  • You will play a key role in developing and executing social strategy to build the profile of our campaigns, including election campaigns, and deliver strong results for events and fundraising.
  • You will use your knowledge and experience of social media communities to help develop strategies for growth and engagement.
  • You will be eager to learn from other campaigners and develop new skills and knowledge.
  • You will be prepared to drop everything at a moment’s notice and join a protest in the streets.
  • You agree that BBQ shapes are much better than Pizza shapes.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights, union values and a desire to make the world more just and fair.
  • Proficiency in producing and co-ordinating high-performing organic and paid digital content.
  • Sound editorial judgment such as in content creation and moderation.
  • Track record in engaging, growing and mobilising communities online.
  • Ability to plan and execute creative and brand strategy in accordance with campaign goals.
  • Skills in providing timely and effective testing, analysis, reporting and response to data trends of organic and paid content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to contribute to a positive team culture of experimentation, innovation, evaluation and transparency/accountability.

Bonus

  • Experience working at a union, NPF, progressive organisation.
  • Qualifications in marketing or a related field.
  • Filmmaking and/or digital journalism experience.
  • Strong personal social media.

The position will be based out of Trades Hall in Carlton.

SALARY

Trades Hall has an attractive collective agreement including a monthly RDO (in recognition of occasional additional hours) and 12% superannuation. The position will be at level 4 in our classification structure (salary $73,613.32 at 1 Jan 2022).
