The Victorian Trades Hall Council (VTHC) is looking for someone who wants to make a difference.

We are seeking to employ a Project Organiser - Digital Content on a short-term contract, until December 2021, to work as part of our Jobs team. The Project Organiser will manage our web and social media pages as well as develop project materials such as booklets and presentations.

The Jobs team is made up of two projects one which supports participants from First Nations, diverse and migrant backgrounds into employment pathways to go on to secure employment and one which supports women into historically male dominated industries such as construction and manufacturing.

While the Victorian Trades Hall Council offices are in Carlton, due to Covid19 the position will be required to work from home, with appropriate support, until the end of 2020. Arrangements for 2021 have not been confirmed. The position is in a small team funded by the Victorian Government.

Duties include

  • Manage content, ensuring its accuracy, currency and utility on the Jobs teams’ websites and social media
  • Copywriting for website and social media content and editing or reviewing others’ material
  • Developing / assisting the team in development of content for program materials such as fliers, PowerPoint presentations and reports
  • Ensuring website and social media pages are line with agreed objectives

Essential Requirements

  • A commitment to social justice and trade union principles
  • An understanding of barriers faced in employment
  • Exceptional written, visual, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities when faced with competing demands
  • Experience working as part of a small team
  • Ability to work to a tight timeframe
  • Ability to quickly comprehend and effectively communicate new and complex concepts
  • Experience in web development, coding, copywriting and graphic design desirable
  • Experience working with WordPress, Campaign Monitor, Google Analytics desirable

The position will report to the Secretary through the Jobs team Lead. Attractive salary package, including a monthly RDO and 12% superannuation.
