Very Special Kids provides holistic care for Victorian families facing the potential death of a child with a life limiting condition. We provide; counselling and emotional support for the whole family, medically-supported respite care and end of life care and long-term bereavement support. Our free-of-charge services help more than 850 families across Victoria, with ongoing support, from the child’s diagnosis all the way through to bereavement or the child joining adult services.

Our eight bed children's hospice offers planned respite and emergency respite as well as end-of-life care for children with life-threatening conditions. Most children who come to stay have complex medical and care needs.

In 2021 we are embarking on our single biggest service improvement project; a hospice rebuild to deliver a new world class centre and ensure the highest level of internationally led best practice care can be delivered.

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, change leader to join our management team as the Hospice Manager as we embark on this exciting chapter in Very Special Kids’ journey.

You will be a proven highly visible leader, capable of engaging and leading a team successfully through change. Quality and family centred care will be central to your focus; coupled with highly effective stakeholder relationship skills and communication skills. Working with a dedicated, caring and skilled team; the role is challenging but rewarding and represents a fantastic opportunity for the right person.
