Value Residential Support Services

About Us

We are a young and dynamic Supported Accommodation Service servicing Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We offer staff flexible rosters, permanent part time or casual opportunities and employee incentives to stay with the organisation. We value our staff as much as our Participants. Our goal is for our staff to work with our Participants to help them live the life they choose.

About the Role

We are looking for Casual and Permanent Part Time employees to work in our supported accommodation arrangements in Inala, Surfers Paradise and 1 shift a week in Shailer Park with the capacity to backfill in other arrangements.

Specifically for the vacancy in Inala, staff will be required to provide personal care including showering meal preparation, administration of medication, domestic duties and social support to a gentleman with an acquired brain injury funded through the NDIS. Shifts vary in lengths but are typically between 6-10 hour shifts with some shifts being attached to sleepovers where you receive a sleep over allowance. Staff will be required to work across a range of days and shifts and ideally have open availability and be flexible in your available hours.

It is a preference of the Participant and their family that they be supported by male staff only and as a result of the cognitive deficit, applicants with an accent must have clear English language skills as the Participant finds it very difficult to decipher accents.

For the position in Surfers Paradise - it is supporting a lady with very high physical needs from Huntingtons disease. This is a complex arrangement and staff will be required to provide personal care including showering, frequent toileting, meal preparation - including thickened fluids and pureed food, feeding , administration of medication, domestic duties and social support. It is preferable as per the families wishes that staff be female unless they have considerable experience with this condition. Shifts vary in length but are typically 5 hour shifts and an overnight awake shift from 10pm.

Staff must have a current first aid and CPR certificate and preferably a Yellow Card or the capacity to pass a National Criminal History Screening. Additionally staff must have a current drivers licence and use of a vehicle to transport Participants in. You will be reimbursed .78 cents per kilometre for transporting when required.

For Logan we are recruiting for a young man who is seeking assistance from a peer who can assist with taking him to the gym and with skill development.
