About us

The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation is a statutory authority which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Victorians by working with our communities and government to deliver effective, evidence-based initiatives and innovative approaches to prevent gambling harm and provide support for those seeking help. Our strategic priorities are to:

  1. Prevent gambling harm through a public health approach,
  2. Work in partnership with those who share our vision to improve community health and wellbeing,
  3. Build a collaborative and respected centre of expertise to deliver our mission for all Victorians.

Our vision is a Victoria free from gambling-related harm.

About you

You are an accomplished and well-rounded communication professional with corporate discipline, creative flair, and a strong understanding of the public sector environment.

You are strategic, an excellent writer, highly organised, detail oriented, digitally savvy, and able to manage a budget. You are also flexible and collaborative, have strong interpersonal skills, thrive working in a team as well as independently, form productive relationships, and value inclusivity.

Importantly, you are collegiate, adept at effectively managing multiple communication projects and passionate about work that supports and strengthens the health and wellbeing of communities. You are also politically aware, attuned to risk, and able to contribute to, and support, media and issues management strategies.

Essential skills/experience:

  • Demonstrated achievement in developing and implementing effective communication strategies on time and within budget, and ensuring content is professional, tailored, accurate, timely and engaging
  • A track record of successfully delivering communication projects and products that involve collaborating with other communication professionals such as photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and printers
  • High proficiency in writing and editing in a range of styles and for different audiences across stakeholder and consumer channels, including translating the findings of research into accessible language
  • The ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including board members and the executive leadership team, and communities affected by gambling harm
  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in communication, public relations, or a related field.

The Foundation has two vacancies – an ongoing position and a two-year fixed-term position.
