VolunteeringACT is the peak body for volunteering and community information in the Canberra Region, as well as being a service provider of programs for people experiencing disadvantage and isolation, people with disability, and people needing support for mental wellness. This role will be responsible for the marketing and communications functions of the organisation. The duties of the role are to:
- Develop and implement a Marketing and Communications Strategy and underpinning Plan
- Create high-quality content and collateral to promote VolunteeringACT’s services, projects and programs, including media releases, talking points, newsletters, EDMs, social media, brochures, and website content
- Campaign design and coordination, including creating content and design work
- Implement a high quality, engaging and up-to-date website and social media presence
- Build and maintain professional relationships, including with the media, Government, Member organisations, and key stakeholders
- Develop and implement the organisation’s Events and Training Program
- Effectively recruit, screen, train and manage volunteers to meet organisational and program/project objectives including utilising retention and recognition techniques
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of all interactions with external stakeholders
- Identify, research and recommend new service or product opportunities in line with operational and strategic plans
- Actively and professionally represent the organisation at events, expos and meetings as required
- Prepare high quality reports for relevant Government Departments, the Board of Directors and the Executive Team
- Contribute to the smooth running and facilitation of both business sites
- Respond to and resolve enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Contribute to the organisation’s strategic priorities
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Qualifications and experience in marketing, communication, advertising, and media
- Exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to write for diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective networks with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience delivering customer focused media and marketing campaigns
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and outstanding attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Efficiency at using IT platforms and databases including maintaining accurate and timely records
Desirable:
- Graphic design skills
- Event management experience
- Fundraising/donor management experience
Other Requirements:
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Card or willingness to obtain one
The role is full time and the salary range is between $80,571 and $84,375 per annum, dependant on experience. This amount does not include superannuation and generous salary sacrifice benefits.
